History
New Wave Rock/Pop group, Citizen 5 was formed in the spring of 2006 by Ricardo Sasaki and Jason Long. These two previously met in the fall of 2005 while working together on a studio album for a local artist. Scott Sunderman and Paulo Valles, whom had previously played together in a local band, joined Citizen 5 through a mutual friend in the summer of 2006. They were both an excellent addition to the band and they helped create a unique and distinctive sound. After struggling to find the right fit for lead vocals, Jimmilea was added in December 2006. Their backgrounds span from Bolivia, Mexico and the United States, hence the name Citizen 5; five citizens of the world. Their musical backgrounds vary from new wave, pop, rock, jazz, Latin and country. Their live show is soulful, dramatic but also full of energy. The band’s goal is to stay hard working, creative and write music that appeals to a vast array of audiences. It is important to have something truthful to say to the world. Each member has dedicated their lives to the pursuit of the ultimate sound. In 2009, Citizen 5 changed their name becoming "Queen of Monroe".
